How are the people of Ontario feeding millions of hungry people all around the world using our local harvest? This incredible 8 year old operation, affectionately known as “The Gleaners”, produces over 5 million servings of dried vegetable mix each year that has been used in over 40 different countries. An average of 60 volunteers arrive each weekday morning to trim and process 4000-7000 pounds of donated fresh produce. The fresh produce is dried creating approximately 25,000 servings of food. It is packaged into dried vegetable mixes and given to mission organizations for distribution around the world helping to feed the world’s hungry.
