On Giving Tuesday (December 1, 2015) donate to Grand River Hospital’s campaign for a new state-of-the-art CT (Computed Tomography) Scanner, the single most important tool for diagnosing and treating cancer and stroke patients.
When a patient with a suspected stroke arrives at our Emergency Department, there isn’t a minute to lose. The sooner a stroke is diagnosed, the sooner the patient will get treatment. For any cancer patient, the period between diagnosis and treatment can be a time of anxiety. The CT scan can provide the health care team with information critical to a patient’s treatment plan.
The current CT scanner needs to be replaced with a new one with improved technology that will provide enhanced information for better diagnosis and treatment.
Giving Tuesday is a new Canadian movement for giving that takes place each year after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It is the “opening day of the giving season,” it is a day to encourage people to think about their community.
We are truly grateful to all of our donors for their support and these contributions have helped make Grand River Hospital the leading regional health care provider. To that end, we are asking for your help to raise the $2.5 million needed to purchase a new CT unit. We have raised over $1 million to-date but need your support to help us reach our goal.
