Community Support Connections (CSC) recognizes the value of evidence-based exercise to help our clients maintain or increase their physical health and mobility. We know that just 50 hours of standing exercise each year can prevent one fall! Last year CSC provided 93,456 units of gentle exercise and 10,188 units of falls prevention.
We also recognize the important impact and potential consequences of falls on the health of our clients and the health care system. Falls are a serious issue with an estimated 1 in 3 older adults experiencing a fall each year and cost the provincial economy billions of dollars each year. The good news is that falls are predictable are preventable, and CSC is making a difference by helping keep people healthy, out of hospital beds and living in their own homes.

In just 15 minutes a Fab-Fit volunteer helps protect a client against declines in cognitive functions, memory loss and dementia.
One WALC class a week can help up to 40 people improve their functional fitness, enabling them to live at home with independence and dignity.
Your donation can help older adults who participate in regular aerobic exercise, as they can see a 20% improvement in their cardiorespiratory ability. This will improve their ability to walk to the grocery store, vacuum, and move up and down the stairs at home.
This program is partially funded by the Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network, but we rely on community support to ensure CSC’s exercise programs are able to keep up with growing demand from an aging population.
Monthly Giving: Your monthly giving investment will ensure the sustainability of our exercise programs, ensuring local seniors and adults with disabilities have access to free, gentle exercise in their neighbourhood.
One Time Donation: Your one time donation can help CSC establish a new site for even more clients to be served. Donations can be made online, by mail or by phone.

Give the Gift of Time: We offer a variety of volunteer positions including Exercise Instructors who lead free group gentle exercise classes at various community locations, or one on one sessions in a client’s home to help maintain their mobility and independence.
